Description

The Process Improvement Lead will work as a hands-on facilitator with production, maintenance, and continuous improvement department teams to improve manufacturing processes, equipment efficiencies, and product quality through Process Control and Continuous Improvement principles.

The Process Improvement Lead ensures the end product meets customer needs. The Process Improvement Lead will provide technical leadership in the improvement of manufacturing processes, raw material quality, manufacturing equipment efficiencies, and product quality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze existing manufacturing and business processes using Lean methodologies to identify waste and determine root causes
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to correct inefficiencies
  • Collect and analyze production data
  • Conduct process audits to review product characteristics and process variables and implements sustainable corrective actions for process issues
  • Identify and eliminate common causes of product and process variation (troubleshooting)
  • Establish processes for all critical tasks and audits for adherence and compliance
  • Partner with maintenance to resolve equipment issues
  • Develop new standards to maintain improved efficiency and cost savings
  • Lead multiple projects and training to coordinate improvements across all levels of the organization


Required Skills/Abilities include:

  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis methods to problem solve process issues and increase equipment reliability, process capability, and improve product quality
  • Ability to prioritize and identify cost savings opportunities across manufacturing
  • Develop and implement procedures and systems to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to organize and lead multi-functional teams from all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Utilize data and data collection systems, and problem solving methods to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs
  • Possess business and financial acumen to understand the drivers of success and how they interact
  • Independent and resourceful with a strong ability to relate big picture ideas to senior management as well as practical hands on ideas with floor associates
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and working in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Power BI, Project, Visio & SharePoint are a plus)

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and relevant academic knowledge or professional experience related to manufacturing, process control, continuous improvement and project management. 5+ years relevant experience or PMP certification preferred.
