Job Description

Sets up and operate one or more machines in production departments. Performs simple assembly operations. Reads a tape measure, simple blue prints, and operates power hand tools, performs soldering operations and uses a welding torch.

Diversified assembly or adjusting duties such as complete assembly of units involving a number of parts or erection of larger units having a limited number of parts and fairly liberal tolerances. Requires fitting and adjusting to meet operating requirements of products.

May also assemble minor units or a small number of usually standardized products.

May operate power lift truck.

This position can involve bench assembly operations on lightweight parts or large assemblies requiring overhead crane and/or lift truck assistance.

Work on basic machines such as drill press, cut off saws, belt sanders and with deburring tools.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING/SKILLS:

  • 1 Year manufacturing production experience required.
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Mechanically-inclined
  • Ability to operate basic power hand tools i.e. deburring, pneumatic tooling, electric grinder, heat gun, familiarity with torches
  • Previous welding experience desirable
  • Knowledge of basic instrumentation

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
