Fortrea is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to lead our global finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role offers a unique opportunity to oversee critical accounting functions and drive compliance for the global regulatory standards we adhere to.

In this role, you will lead the global accounting team and provide technical accounting guidance to the broader finance organization. You will oversee the global close process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and company policies.

Additionally, you will engage with internal and external auditors and manage third-party providers delivering accounting services to Fortrea.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the preparation of the company's monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage all aspects of the accounting close, including account reconciliations, GL analysis and management reporting.
  • Review monthly financial statements and trend analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of results and compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for researching and implementing new accounting standards, including drafting technical accounting memos, and updating relevant policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and perform SOX controls as control owner of the month-end close process.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to senior management.
  • Point of contact for external and internal audits.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce financial close and reporting policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for training, supervising, developing, motivating, and evaluating department staff.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and execute special projects as needed within accounting organization.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
  • Master of Accountancy is highly desired.
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting.
  • Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-specific regulations, accounting standards, and best operating practices relevant to the CRO and services industry in the life sciences space.
  • The ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with effective organization and priority setting skills.
  • Experience with the use of accounting ERP systems, close tools, and MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with leading financial accounting, reporting, and audit coordination in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Strong leadership skills are required.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to details and strong decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range: $230,000 - $320,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)

Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), and Company bonus where applicable.
